Life Sustaining Businesses  – Updated 3/21/20

FROM THE DCED: On March 20, the Governor provided an updated list to help distinguish which businesses may continue to operate and which cannot. We understand many businesses may have questions about whether they must shut down. To help provide further clarity for these questions, DCED has developed an FAQ page. If you have further questions not answered on the FAQ, please email ra-dcedcs@pa.gov.

Link to Department of Community and Economic Development Waiver Form

FROM THE DCED: We understand that in extenuating circumstances, special exemptions to the order should be granted to businesses that are supplying or servicing health care providers. The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has established a process for applying for an exemption to the order. Before you apply for an exemption, we encourage you to view the updated list and the FAQ linked above to find out if it is necessary for your business to apply for an exemption.

If you determine an exemption is required for your business, please follow this link to take you to the exemption application form. After you fill out the information for your business and submit the form, business professionals at DCED will review the form and provide a response as quickly as possible. Non-life-sustaining businesses are not permitted to continue operating their physical locations while waiting for a response.
