The University of Pittsburgh Small Business Development Center has partnered with Maiello, Brungo & Maiello and Agora Group to present The Next Step – Managing Employees to be held May 21 from 7:30 – 10 a.m at Mervis Hall – University of Pittsburgh Oakland campus. Attorney Michael Brungo of Maiello Brungo & Maiello’s Labor & Employment Law Team will speak on effective hiring and firing, developing employee handbooks and the use of independent contractors. B. Chad Ellis of Agora Group will speak on how the healthcare reform law impacts small business, group benefits verses premium reimbursement and the role of technology. The mission of the Small Business Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh is to grow the economy of Southwestern Pennsylvania by providing entrepreneurs with the education, information and tools necessary to build successful businesses.
