Lawrence Maiello will speak at the Monroeville Area Chamber Government & Community Affairs Committee meeting March 1, 2011, at 8:30 a.m. in the MACC Training and Conference Center, Suite 170, 2790 Mosside Blvd.

The Agenda:

Don’t miss what will be an informative and eye opening committee meeting when we will learn about and discuss county-wide earned income tax collection.  Act 32 of 2008 provides for a restructuring of the Earned Income Tax Collection System for Pennsylvania local governments and school districts. This legislation is one of the most significant pieces of local tax legislation that has been enacted in recent years. The Act provides for a three year transition period and full implementation by January 2012. It is critical that business owners understand the system and fulfill their various responsibilities.

At the meeting we will welcome featured speakers: Lawrence Maiello, Esq. of the law firm, Maiello Brungo & Maiello as well as Monroeville Mayor Greg Erosenko.  Mr. Maiello acts as Solicitor for the Allegheny County North Tax Collection Committee (TCC) and also serves as solicitor to the Allegheny County Southwest and Westmoreland County TCCs.  Mr. Erosenko serves as Chairman of the Allegheny Southeast TCC and has been instrumental in moving the TCC process forward in Monroeville and the surrounding communities.
