Judy Shopp will present on December 15, 2014 a workshop on Section 504 Compliance at the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV for Special Education Directors from 27 school districts in Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties as part of the Intermediate Unit’s professional development program.
The program features: Understanding Section 504 plans; Applying Laws and Regulations – Chapter 15 and ADAAA; Reviewing District 504 Manuals for Compliance; Determining Accommodations – 504 or IEP; Handling a Student’s Rejection of Accommodations; Triggering Child Find Through Bullying Incidents; Avoiding Discipline Dilemmas and Other Section 504 Mistakes; and Communicating with Parents to Avoid Conflicts with Parents.
