Michael T. Korns is Senior Counsel with the law firm of Maiello, Brungo and Maiello, LLP. Michael focuses his practice on municipal law and civil litigation, and has experience with a wide range of civil matters, including products liability, tort defense, employment, class actions, election law, real estate, and business disputes. Michael has represented clients in both state and federal court in jurisdictions across the United States. In his municipal practice, he advises municipalities on a variety of issues, and serves as Solicitor for the Township of Penn, the Township of Ligonier, the Mount Pleasant Township Municipal Authority, the Braddock Water Authority, and the Upper Tyrone Township Sewage Authority.

Michael is a graduate of Harvard Law School, where he served as an Articles Editor for the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Political Science. Prior to establishing his practice in Pennsylvania, Michael practiced in Washington D.C.

Michael is a native of Westmoreland County Pennsylvania. He is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia, and he is also admitted to Federal Court in both DC and Pennsylvania. He has been recognized by the DC District Court for his contributions as a member of that Court’s Pro Bono Service Panel, and also serves on the board of the Kiski Valley Habitat for Humanity. Michael is the co-author of several articles concerning civil litigation defense, and he is a member of the Westmoreland County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.

Michael served for two terms the Chairman of the Westmoreland County Republican Committee. Through that organization, he worked to elect Republican candidates to federal, state, and local office, as the official representative of the Republican party in Westmoreland County.
