OVERVIEW

As the Director of Real Estate Tax at Maiello Brungo & Maiello, Donald A. Walsh, Jr. concentrates his practice in real estate tax law, real estate, commercial litigation, and business law. He has achieved success for his clients at the administrative, trial court, and appellate levels for 30 years.

Mr. Walsh has extensive experience in commercial real estate tax assessment appeals, has litigated cases of legal significance, and obtained optimal tax results for his clients, which include several publicly traded companies. He represents owners of varied properties such as central business district, office buildings, international retail, shopping centers, apartment complexes, student housing, industrial properties, banks, senior living facilities, global chain hotels, and resort properties.

In addition to ad-valorem tax litigation, Mr. Walsh has a background in property tax exemption law, preferential assessments, “PILOT” programs, LERTA and tax increment financing or “TIF” projects.  Mr. Walsh currently serves as trial counsel in assessment matters for several school districts in western Pennsylvania.

Mr. Walsh also represents clients in real estate matters involving eminent domain, land use and zoning, development, leasing, boundary disputes, the Pennsylvania Clean Streams Law, and the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act.

Mr. Walsh’s practice includes general corporate matters in all areas of entity formation, day-to-day operations, and reorganization.
